Agape Class:
The Agape Sunday School Class offers an exciting, non-traditional, everybody – welcome environment. It meets in the Library on the second floor. Judy Fackler is the discussion leader. Try it; you’ll like it. For more information, check out our blog: agapefumcjax.blogspot.com.
Friendship Class:
The Friendship Class is ideally suited to mature adults who have studied biblical literature over the years, and being familiar with it, enjoy discussion around contemporary life issues and how they are addressed by the teachings of the Bible. The Sunday School lessons are taught by a rotating group of teachers with a guest teacher on fifth Sundays. Each teacher has a distinctive teaching style, assuring diversity and interesting learning opportunities. The class meets in the Boyd Building, Room 109 at 9:45 a.m. Sunday mornings.
Keystone Class:
The Keystone Class offers the opportunity for older adults with long-term church affiliations, to review the scriptures, and to express their convictions on their meaning. Since most members have developed fairly solid convictions of the meanings of scripture, sometimes "hot" interplay develops among the members as well as between the members and the teacher. Members of the class serve as teachers. The fifth Sunday lesson is usually taught by one of our pastors known for biblical scholarship and interpretations of the scriptures for application in modern society.
The text material for the year September 2010 through June 2011 is Adult Bible Studies published by Cokesbury, The United Methodist Publishing House, Nashville, TN.
Meeting Time: 9:45 AM; Boyd Building, Room 108.
Trinity Class:
The Trinity Class is a group of Christian adults, both single and married, who enjoy gathering each Sunday morning, at 9:45 on the second floor of the educational building to study God's word. We are currently using the Adult Bible Study series to guide our studies and discussions. The class has a regular rotation of five spirit-filled teachers/facilitators, two of whom are members of our church's ministry team. Our class activities include missional projects to help those in need in Jacksonville. We also enjoy getting together for fun activities on a regular basis throughout the year. Please visit our class. You will be warmly welcomed and loved.
